Training on "Psychological Aspects of Children in Civic Mediation"

Mediators Association of Georgia organized an event on "Psychological Aspects of Children in Civic Mediation" for the members of the Association and for the administration. The event was supported by United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The event was opened by the Chairman of the Mediators Association of Georgia, Irakli Kandashvili, who noted, that such events and activities are extremely important for the development of mediation. Issues such as the child's development and relationship with the child, the role of the psychologist in the child's civil and administrative affairs, the parent-child psychological difficulties, domestic violence, the psychological characteristics of the child victim of domestic violence, etc. were discussed during the meeting. Involvement of specialized mediators in the mediation process, ensures that the best interests of the child are taken into account in the process without unequal treatment of children, protection of their dignity, well-being and safety. That is why the Association constantly cares for and assists the mediators who are members of the Association in their professional development.
