Meri Makharashvili - mediator since 2025.
Meri Makharashvili currently serves as Communications Expert for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN OHCHR) in the South Caucasus and as a Communications Advisor for the USAID Rule of Law Program.
Since 2006, Meri has been actively engaged in raising public awareness of universally recognized human rights and the national and international mechanisms that protect them. She supports institutional development and awareness-raising activities related to mediation and arbitration with the Legal Aid Service of Georgia (LAS), the Mediators Association of Georgia (MAG), the Georgian Bar Association (GBA), and the Georgian Association of Arbitrators (GAA).
With a strong background in communications, Meri has managed projects in Georgia and abroad covering a wide range of areas, including the rule of law, human rights, children's and women's rights, disability rights, minority rights, labor rights, gender equality, judicial reform, good governance, economic development, agriculture, education, and healthcare.
She has worked with international organizations such as Save the Children in Georgia and Azerbaijan, and World Vision in Georgia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and the Philippines. As an expert and trainer, she has collaborated with agencies of the World Bank, the European Union (EU), USAID, and various United Nations bodies including UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, FAO, etc.
Meri is also a visiting lecturer at Caucasus University, where she shares theoretical and practical knowledge in public relations with the students.
She holds bachelor's and master’s degrees in communications from Ilia State University. In 2024, she completed mediator training with RESOLVE, and in 2025, she successfully completed the three-stage certification program required by the Mediators Association of Georgia.
