The process of strengthening the system of mediation continues.
The role and importance of universities is significant in the introduction and development of mediation. That is why the process of cooperation continues and today, on June 17, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Georgian Association of Mediators and Ilia State University.
The signatories of the Memorandum are Irakli Kandashvili, Chairperson of the Georgian Association of Mediators and Irakli Porchkhidze, Dean of Iliauni Law School.
According to the Memorandum of Cooperation, the Georgian Association of Mediators and Ilia State University have launched a three-month mediation project, supported by the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to resolve labor disputes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic between employer and employee in a peaceful and timely manner and at a lower cost.
According to Irakli Kandashvili, Chairperson of the Georgian Association of Mediators, this is a unique tool and effective mechanism offered to the society to resolve disputes arising in their labor relations completely free of charge and effectively.
