On December 7, the training "Child Rights" for the members of the Mediators Association of Georgia begins.
It is important for the Mediators Association of Georgia to respond to the challenges that modern society faces in the field of child rearing and child rights in order to protect the best interests of children.
The Code on the Rights of the Child adopted by the Parliament of Georgia in September 2019, as well as international treaties, require special treatment of children in the justice system. In the course of litigation, the protection of the best interests of children is the most important task of all participating agencies. Article 73 of the Code on the Rights of the Child requires that specialised persons be involved in the review process related to the rights of the child. Therefore, LEPL " Mediators Association of Georgia" with the support of the partner donor organization UNICEF (UNICEF), in accordance with the requirements of the Code on the Rights of the Child from 1 September 2020, provides a specialized course for interested association members who are willing to carry out mediation activities related to children's rights.
The involvement of these specialized mediators in the mediation process ensures the priority of the best interests of the child without unequal treatment of children during the process, protection of their dignity, well-being and safety.
The Association constantly cares about and supports the Mediators Association of Georgia for professional development.
