A working meeting was held with judges in Kutaisi: "Existing practice and challenges during transfer/referral of mediation cases".
"Mediators Association of Georgia“ with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Program "Mediation Institutional Strengthening and Development Project" held a working meeting with judges in Kutaisi: "Existing Practices and Challenges in Transferring/Referring Mediation Cases".
The event was opened by Tamar Imnaishvili, the Executive Director of the Mediators Association of Georgia, Irakli Gelovani, USAID Rule of Law Program ADR advisor, addressed the invited guests.
The following participated in the panel discussion: Tsitsino Kikvadze - judge of the Kutaisi City Court; Tsitsino Mosidze - Judge of Kutaisi City Court; Sofio Chachava - Member of the Executive Board of the Mediators Association of Georgia; Elene Orjonikidze - Member of the Executive Board of the Association of Mediators of Georgia; Tariel Sikharulidze - Member of the Executive Board of the Mediators Association of Georgia.
The event was also attended by mediators and assistant judges of the Kutaisi registry.
At the meeting, important issues related to the practice and challenges during the transfer/referral of mediation cases were discussed.
The meeting ended with a summary discussion and it was planned to implement such effective steps for the further improvement of the mediation legislation, which will contribute to the strengthening of the institution of mediation.
