Working meeting with judges

As part of Mediation Week, "Mediators Association of Georgia" with the support of USAID Rule of Law Program "Mediation Institutional Strengthening and Development Project", held a working meeting with judges in a round table format. The event was opened by Irakli Kandashvili, the chairman of the Mediators Association of Georgia, and Irakli Gelovani, the USAID Rule of Law Program ADR advisor, addressed the invited guests.

 

Judges of the Tbilisi City and Appeal Court, members of the Executive Council of the Mediators Association of Georgia and mediators took part in the working meeting.

 

At the meeting, such important issues as related to the challenges related to the implementation of the mediation settlement were discussed; Prospects for further regulation of the issue of refund of the state duty paid for the purposes of the mediation process and procedural regulation of the ethical fine appeal.

 

The meeting ended with a summary discussion and it was planned to implement such effective steps for the further improvement of the mediation legislation, which will contribute to the strengthening of the institution of mediation.
