The Association of Mediators of Georgia, with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Program, held a meeting with the new members of the Georgian Bar Association.
The chairman of the Mediators Association of Georgia, Irakli Kandashvili, and the representative of the USAID Rule of Law Program, Ekaterine Lortkipanidze, welcomed the participants.
Irakli Kandashvili spoke about mediation and noted that it is very important for lawyers to have thorough knowledge of the mediation process, he advised young lawyers to become effective representatives in the mediation process and to fulfill the function of reliable advisors of the parties.

The purpose of the meeting was to share experiences between mediators. Irakli Kandashvili, Chairman of the Mediators Association of Georgia, welcomed the participants. Experienced mediators and heads of Tbilisi and Mtskheti judicial mediation centers, Elene Orjonikidze and Natia Chitashvili, shared their experience with the new members of the association and introduced them to the specifics of the work of the judicial centers, and also talked about the problems in the centers.
Mediators Association of Georgia, with the support of the USAID Rule of Law Program - Mediation Institutional Strengthening and Development Project - conducted training for mediators under the name - "Procedural Law for mediation"
The training took place within the framework of continuing professional education of mediators and was led by Lasha Kalandadze, a member of the Mediators Association of Georgia. The executive director of the Mediators Association of Georgia, Tamar Imnaishvili, and Sofio Tkemaladze, an advisor in the direction of ADR of the USAID Rule of Law Program, welcomed the participants.
